I’ve got nostalgic pavements
I’ve got familiar faces
I’ve got mixed up memories
And I’ve got favourite places
I’m singing at home on a Friday night
And I hope everything’s gonna be alright
Hi there!
You can call me Gwen. My real name is French, and according to social networking sites, I’m one of seven people in my country who have it. Yes, I did search for my own name. Don’t pretend you never did that.
In 2007 I graduated from HAVO, and in June of 2009, from VWO. VWO is the only form of secondary education in the Netherlands that allows you to go on to university. I started my bachelor, Scandinavian Studies, in September, and moved to Amsterdam from the small village in the South where I live with my parents. The rest of my family lives in Groningen, where I was born and lived up until I was three years old, in the North, and some of them live in Germany.
English is obviously not my native language, but I started ESL (English as a Second Language) classes when I was eight or nine years old. I also used to speak English with my mother and the Russian-Israeli boy she nannied, up until I was about twelve, when we started using Dutch more often.
I have been blogging on this blog for years, and before that I used to blog in Dutch. My posts are supposed to be about everything that interests me, but I find them to be about LGBT issues most often times.
Oh, and even if you hate what I write, I’d love to hear from you! The comment button loves you.
